After many years of Radio Ministry on WDEH 98.3 FM and WLOD 800 AM in Sweetwater, Tennessee, Bishop Drinnon accepted the behest of his radio audience and scheduled a Revival in Sweetwater. On December 13, 1997 the Word of Faith Family Revival Center opened it’s doors for the first of what was thought to be a 10 day revival. However, God had other plans and the meeting continued for almost 3 months. During that time the decision was made to continue on as the Word of Faith Family Worship Center. The New Church on what the locals call “the new block” became the talk of the town. People traveled from all over Southeast Tennessee and Western North Carolina to be in these revolutionary service. Often the little storefront church on Morris St. would be standing room only. Many legendary ministries began to grace the pulpit of the fledgling new church. People like Rev. Al Green, Rev. J.B. Shelton, Musicianary Caleb Quaye and many more made frequent appearances during those first couple of years in Sweetwater. But, it wouldn’t be long until the church would move into their iconic location on Mulberry St., (US HWY 11) in Loudon. It would be in that location that the Word of Faith Family would become the face of Miracle Ministries International Fellowship. There, in Loudon, the annual Convocation would reach an unprecedented level, with delegates attending the Convention from as many as 15 different states every year. However after 15 years in Loudon the Word of Faith Family would be on the move again due to a fire that destroyed their beloved historic building. But, the story doesn’t end with the fire. In October of 2014, after meeting under the Gospel Tent for almost four months, construction began on the Faith Chapel in Philadelphia. For some, who may be casual observers from a distance, the current location for the Word of Faith Family may appear to be a step back, but for those of us on the inside, it is simply another stop on our journey to our fulfilled purpose. It’s been 22 years since the first hallelujah was offered up at Word of Faith Sweetwater, yet we still press on. Will you make plans to join us as we celebrate 22 years of the REVOLUTION here in Southeast Tennessee. We’ve only just began to fight!!!!!
